Procedure Type: Augmentation Mastopexy with Autologous Fat Transfer

Doctor's Comments:

These are early results in my young patient who underwent breast augmentation and a lift with her own fat transfer from her abdomen and hips. I use my signature 'auto-augmentation' technique in this type of breast lift as well, using breast tissue positioned high on the chest wall to create long-lasting volume where it belongs!

Doctor's Comments:

This 70 year old woman presented with severe capsular contractures S/P breast augmentation in 1987 and revision in 2006. She is very active and these were uncomfortable and in her way. She is very thin but I was able to get adequate fat to replace her implants by going to multiple donor sites for harvest. She also had remarkable fat graft survival, maintaining most of the volume that was placed. Her bra size remains the same but her breasts are soft and natural. Notice the smooth and natural slope to the upper breast on 3/4 view.

Doctor's Comments:

This patient desired modestly fuller breasts but did not want breast implants. She was not an ideal candidate for lipo-transfer 'natural' breast augmentation because her skin envelope is tight. In a firm, tight breast we are limited in how much volume we can transfer because fat cells will die if they are under too much pressure. By carefully placing no more than this patient's breasts could accommodate, I was able to achieve a surprisingly significant improvement in breast shape and volume. If she wants to go bigger, another stage of lipo-transfer can be considered in 6 months.

Fat grafting from hips, abdomen, inner and outer thighs to bilateral breasts. Total aspirated 1470cc. 312cc infiltrated in right breast and 345cc in left breast. *
