If your face is showing signs of aging, you may be exploring the variety of facial injections offered at our Latham/Albany/Schenectady, New York practice. As you age, your skin can lose its supple, youthful glow due to diminishing collagen production and elasticity. This can result in wrinkles and creases in the mouth area. Additionally, signs of aging can be shown in your hands, providing a frail and volumeless appearance. Radiesse, formerly known as Radiance, is a wrinkle and hand rejuvenating filler, used to smooth and volumize the skin, restoring a naturally younger appearance.
How does Radiesse® work?
Radiesse is made up of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres carried in a liquid gel solution. During this treatment, our professional provider will inject this gel formula through a tiny needle placed just under the skin at the treatment site. Radiesse works to add volume to the skin and results can continue to improve by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production.
Over time, the body absorbs and expels the gel, only leaving your natural collagen behind. In the majority of patients, these phenomenal results are shown to last up to a year or more with a high patient satisfaction rate. Radiesse is FDA-approved to restore volume loss in the back of the hands and smooth facial wrinkles and folds in the mouth and nose area. The solution is also mixed with lidocaine, a type of anesthetic, to reduce injection-related pain.
