Depending on your beauty goals and the areas of your face or body that you want to treat, Radiesse may be recommended as an excellent option for you. It is an injection treatment done as a quick office procedure, using numbing cream on the skin. The treatment is well-tolerated by most patients. We use needles or cannulas, depending on the treatment site. Radiesse comes pre-mixed with some local anesthetic, Lidocaine, which makes the injections more comfortable.
Radiesse is used in its original formulation or diluted with additional local anesthetic and saline, depending on whether you need immediate volume and contour, or are looking for skin quality improvement without added volume in areas like the decollete, arms, thighs, etc.
You can expect some swelling and bruising at the treatment site and icing is helpful in the first day or two after treatment. You will want to avoid excess sun exposure. Most patients go back to regular activities the day after treatment.

Risks

Nodules, infection and more serious complications such as vascular injury resulting in skin wounding or damage to vision are possible, though rare. Most importantly, when trying to limit risks, work with a trained, licensed medical professional when considering any filler or facial augmentation treatment.
