How We Give Back: Community Involvement and Charitable Donation

We are grateful to be able to work in a rewarding and successful field like Plastic Surgery. Our patients continue to inspire us with their stories, as well as their own charitable contributions. We have come to know that many of you donate your time and resources to some amazing organizations right here in our community. Here are a few that we support alongside you.

This is a not-for-profit organization that helps the animal community in the Capital district by providing low-cost spay/neuter, food, and medical intervention for the companion animals of New York residents and for local wildlife.

Dr. Capek and her staff are all animal lovers and most are dedicated pet owners. We admire what Guilderhaven Inc. has been able to accomplish and the spirit of its brave volunteers.

Founded in 1990 by Artistic Director, Darlene Myers, Northeast Ballet Company is a not-for-profit organization and the resident company of Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady, NY. It is best known for the annual productions of the Nutcracker, which is enjoyed by over 5,000 audience members each year. A spring contemporary dance production called ‘Before and Beyond’ is expanding this company’s repertoire beyond the classical ballet realm. The Myers Dance School educates many young dancers in the Capital District, helping to keep the arts alive in our community.

As a former dance herself, and the mother of an aspiring young ballerina, Dr. Capek is an avid supporter of this art form. She serves on the board of NED and has also danced in NEB’s production of the Nutcracker for several years.

Founded by a breast cancer survivor in 1998, To Life! provides education and free-of-charge services for women and families dealing with issues related to breast cancer. They are a not-for-profit organization providing services in a ten-county region surrounding the Greater Capital District.

Although our practice no longer offers breast reconstruction surgery, as women, mothers and daughters we are all committed to helping breast cancer survivors in our community. This disease touches us all and To Life! Is a tremendous source of support for many.

Their annual Pink Ball in Saratoga Springs, NY in October is not to be missed!
