The Cutera Laser Hair Removal System
Our Cutera® Laser System uses a long wavelength that penetrates deeper into the hair root, resulting in more significant permanent hair removal, not just a temporary “stunning” of the hair follicle. It also effectively removes unwanted facial and body hair in patients of all skin types – from the fairest to the darkest skin color. Many other systems cannot be used to treat dark-skinned patients.
In addition, our laser hair removal treatments are more comfortable than many other lasers, in part because of the built-in cooling mechanism in the laser handpiece.
Results of Cutera Hair Removal Treatments
Patients can expect to see 15-20% less hair growth/density with each treatment. Therefore, 90% or more hair removal can be achieved with a recommended series of 6 treatments in most areas. The hair follicles that are destroyed are meant to permanently stay that way, but over time, new hair follicles may develop due to hormone changes, medications, and other factors. This might mean that people will need to come in occasionally after the initial sessions for maintenance laser treatments.

Preparing for Cutera Laser Hair Removal
If you are coming in for a treatment (not necessarily the initial consultation), shave the area the night before or that morning and avoid any self-tanners or bronzing cream for at least a week. Stop active tanning and avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks. Avoid plucking or tweezing the area for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
