The Importance of Quad A Accreditation

Since 2000, Dr. Capek has been offering a wide range of aesthetic surgical procedures to her patients. Many have been performed in her office-based operating room and others in a hospital setting. Her goal in moving to a much larger facility in 2022 was to expand all surgical and MedSpa services, including being able to offer all levels of anesthesia in the office-based OR, Capek Surgical Arts.

To that end, Dr. Capek and her team successfully completed the accreditation process for Capek Surgical Arts with QUAD A, a global accreditation authority. By earning accreditation, Capek Surgical Arts has demonstrated it meets all of the rigorous patient safety standards set by QUAD A’s accreditation program. QUAD A’s thorough processes, expert surveyors, and consultative approach make them a leading accreditation program for outpatient healthcare facilities across the United States and the world.

At Capek Surgical Arts, we can now perform surgeries ranging from local anesthesia, IV sedation and MAC, as well as general anesthesia in the office-based setting. This has greatly expanded the scope of procedures we can offer our patients in this comfortable, intimate and discreet environment. We are committed to ensuring patient safety, first and foremost, and we are proud to have received accreditation from QUAD A.

Anesthesia at Capek Surgical Arts

At CSA we understand that patients are often anxious about their procedure and the anesthesia they will be receiving. While many procedures we offer can be done under local anesthesia, some require various levels of sedation or general anesthesia. When your procedure requires a higher level of anesthesia, we work with board-certified anesthesiologist, Dr. Natalia Ferrando. She is a highly skilled and compassionate expert in her field, with extensive experience in office-based plastic surgery. She is dedicated to your comfort and safety throughout your operation and during your immediate recovery.

To provide an optimal and pleasant anesthetic experience for our patients, Dr. Capek and Dr. Ferrando have collaborated to develop the safest and most current office-based anesthesia protocols for minimizing post-operative side effects like nausea and vomiting (PONV), and for post-surgical pain management.

Dr. Natalia Ferrando is an American Board-Certified Anesthesiologist (ABA) with 18 years of experience in all aspects of anesthesia administration, specializing in outpatient and office-based anesthesia.

She completed her Anesthesiology Residency at the University at Buffalo and has worked at the major hospitals, ambulatory centers, and office-based practices in the Capital Region and New York City. She currently serves as an Attending Physician and Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Albany Medical Center.

She implements a multimodal anesthesia and analgesia approach for outpatient plastic surgery patients combining Opioid Free Anesthesia (OFA) protocols, Total Intravenous Anesthesia (TIVA), Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC), General Anesthesia and Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anesthesia (UGRA) for postoperative pain management.
In addition to anesthesiology and perioperative medicine, she is devoted to her family and enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and her parents from Ukraine.
