This patient disliked the size/height of her ears. They were taller than average, at about 65mm. I performed a Macrotia Reduction surgery to decrease the height of her ears by about 6-7 mm. She loves this natural result. Scars are virtually invisible.
This young patient was self-conscious about her ears. Results are 3 months after a setback otoplasty done under local anesthesia and oral sedation in our office-based surgical suite, Capek Surgical Arts.
Just 10 days after repair! This patient had 2 earlobe tears from piercings that made his earlobe look shredded. I performed a repair that included some precise and delicate contouring and trimming to restore a natural shape.
The scars will improve over a one-year period- they’re very fresh in this photo. He can re-pierce the lobe after 2 months, but I recommend going through an unscarred area to minimize the chance of it tearing again.
He is loving the result!
This patient did not like how her ear stuck out. To achieve her aesthetic goals, I performed an ear setback. In this procedure, I remove cartilage and skin from the back side of the ear. By removing a piece and suturing from the back, I can achieve dramatic results with an invisible scar in the back crease of the ear.
